DISCUSSION
New Chase, Loop, and 6 story building
- · All seem out of place or don’t believe
- · Look non-IV ish
- · Pretty or cool
- · Never going to afford that
- · Chase is convenient
- · Could have done an atm instead of a bank
- · Something a student group could have invested in
- · Gentrification – pushing low income students out
- · Chase bank as an oppressive bank coming in
- · Orgs do take advantage of that
- · Rich student families coming in and buying property
- · More housing possibly making it a lower cost
- · Makes the rest of IV look shittier
- · Part as moving forward
- · Not really a gentrification since they took out supacucas but did not take out any cheap housing
- · Might remodel IV
- · Problem is that it polarizes space
- · Families are also most affected and evictions
- · Boosts the rates of all houses
