DISCUSSION
New Chase, Loop, and 6 story building

  • ·      All seem out of place or don’t believe
  • ·      Look non-IV ish
  • ·      Pretty or cool
  • ·      Never going to afford that
  • ·      Chase is convenient
  • ·      Could have done an atm instead of a bank
  • ·      Something a student group could have invested in
  • ·      Gentrification – pushing low income students out
  • ·      Chase bank as an oppressive bank coming in
  • ·      Orgs do take advantage of that
  • ·      Rich student families coming in and buying property
  • ·      More housing possibly making it a lower cost
  • ·      Makes the rest of IV look shittier
  • ·      Part as moving forward
  • ·      Not really a gentrification since they took out supacucas but did not take out any cheap housing
  • ·      Might remodel IV
  • ·      Problem is that it polarizes space
  • ·      Families are also most affected and evictions
  • ·      Boosts the rates of all houses
